Building the Academic Network for Sustainable Games: Latest Recording Now Available

One of STRATEGIES' ongoing contributions to the broader sustainable games ecosystem is the work Chloé Wake is doing as Academic Coordinator for the Sustainable Games Alliance, bringing together researchers and universities from across the globe who are working on sustainability and the games industry.

The latest session in the SGA's Academic Global Action for a Sustainable Games Industry series is now available to watch. This instalment features the Play for the Planet network at the University of York — a collaborative initiative exploring how play in its many forms (digital, tabletop, role-playing, hybrid) can be used to model environmental challenges, foster learning, and deepen ecological empathy.

The series is a direct expression of what STRATEGIES and the SGA share: a belief that sustainable transition in the games industry requires international academic collaboration, not just industry action. All recordings are freely available. The next Academic Global Action meetup takes place on 14 May 2026. You can register here!
